BitPoint Japan Launches PEPE Coin Listing
On October 30, 2023, Japan's BitPoint exchange added PEPE coin to its platform, marking a milestone in the industry. Inspired by the popular internet meme "PEPE the Frog," PEPE coin became available for spot trading, lending, and fixed investments on BitPoint. As of October 30, 2024, it ranked 24th in market capitalization according to CoinMarketCap.
BitPoint's PEPE Listing Celebration
To commemorate the launch, BitPoint initiated two campaigns:
- Purchase Promotion: 10 users who purchase over 10,000 Japanese yen worth of PEPE will receive 100,000 Japanese yen worth of PEPE coins until November 27, 2024, at 15:59.
- Social Media Giveaway: Participants can win PEPE coins through BitPoint's official X account (formerly Twitter).
By listing PEPE coin, BitPoint provides Japanese crypto investors with access to memecoins as investment instruments. This move reflects the growing demand for memecoins and BitPoint's commitment to attracting new investors.
PEPE's Deflationary Mechanism
A significant feature of PEPE coin is its automatic burning mechanism, which removes a specific number of coins from circulation with each transaction. This deflationary mechanism reduces supply while maintaining market stability.
As a result, PEPE coin is gaining recognition as a memecoin with limited supply, potentially driving demand and increasing value. At present, PEPE trades at $0.000009501, with a 0.53% increase in the preceding 24 hours.
