Kabosu, the Iconic Shiba Inu Meme That Led to the Birth of Dogecoin (DOGE), Passes Away at the Age of 18
Kabosu, the beloved Shiba Inu whose image became synonymous with the popular memecoin Dogecoin, has passed away on the morning of May 24 at an estimated age of 18 years.
Kabosu's iconic meme, featuring her adorable expression, went viral in 2010. Three years later, in 2013, it inspired the creation of Dogecoin, which has since become the largest memecoin by market capitalization.
The success of Dogecoin paved the way for other dog-themed memecoins, such as Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Floki (FLOKI).
To honor Kabosu's legacy, a memorial ceremony will be held this Sunday, May 28, from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Flower Kaori in Kotsu no Mori, Narita City.
