MOODENG Meme Coin Surges 70% Following Vitalik Buterin’s Hippo Moo Deng Adoption

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin adopted Moo Deng, a pygmy hippopotamus, leading to a surge in the price of the MOODENG meme coin.
Khao Kheow Open Zoo announced the adoption on Thursday, stating that Buterin had joined the Wildlife Sponsorship Program.
Buterin donated 10 Million THB to the zoo, with the first installment of 5 Million THB being made on December 26th. The remaining 5 Million THB is expected to be donated within a year.
The MOODENG meme coin price skyrocketed by nearly 70% following the adoption news. The coin's market cap reached $92.63M, reflecting a 78.60% increase.
Other animal-themed meme coins, such as Flockerz (FLOCK), Wall Street Pepe (WEPE), and CatSlap (SLAP), may also benefit from the increased interest in animal-themed cryptocurrencies.
Flockerz has a market cap of $664.07K, while CatSlap surged 2766% from its all-time low.
