500% Spike in Shiba Inu Token Transaction Fees Shocks Shibarium
Yesterday, May 1, transaction fees on Shibarium, Shiba Inu's layer-2 solution, experienced a dramatic increase. According to data from Shibariumscan, gas commissions paid in BONE surged from 12 BONE to 61.47 BONE, representing a 500% increase.
This rise in fees on Shibarium can be attributed to several factors, primarily increased network activity. Amidst recent market volatility and heightened investor interest in Shiba Inu tokens, the demand for transactions on the Shibarium network has skyrocketed. Corroborating this surge in online activity is a remarkable increase in active accounts, which jumped by 211%, from 1,724 to 3,650 over the same 24-hour period.
Bitcoin (BTC) at End of Correction, Top Analyst Suggests
Despite April marking Bitcoin's worst month since October 2023 due to a significant price decline, renowned market analyst Michael van de Poppe believes the flagship crypto is nearing the end of its correction. In his recent post, van de Poppe noted that BTC has retraced by 20% from recent highs, with potential for further downside in the future. However, he anticipates a recovery for Bitcoin from this point, advising traders to monitor the green zones between $56,000 and $58,000 in the event of a further dip. Concluding his post, van de Poppe predicted that altcoins are likely to rebound before Bitcoin. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $59,156, up 3.27% over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
Robinhood Makes Important Announcement for Uniswap Users
Robinhood, a popular online brokerage, recently announced on its platform that the Robinhood Connect feature has become available on the Uniswap wallet. Through this integration, Uniswap mobile app users can now purchase crypto assets using a debit card, bank transfer, or directly from their Robinhood balance. This option is currently only available to users in the United States.
To commemorate this integration, Robinhood has introduced a limited-time offer: first-time Robinhood Connect customers who purchase at least $10 of crypto using Robinhood Connect within the Uniswap mobile app will receive $10 in USDC as a reward. This development represents a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and convenience for crypto investors.
